These people are the Robinsons.  After stops in places like Mexico City, Tennessee, and San Juan Capistrano, Terry, Billie, Ted, and Tod decided to make Joannie Way their permanent base back in 1980.  They've done a wonderful job of chaning their home from the memory of "The Fleas" ("The Fleas" were the family who lived in that house before them and were known for their dirty home.)  

 

As for the 3-legged dog, his name was Jack.  Jack was run over by a car before coming to Vista, but continued to live happily like everyone else on Joannie Way.  Since his passing, the Robinsons have two new dogs:  Trisket and Wicket.
